Starter clips are an essential foundation for installing WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) decking, especially when using a hidden fastener system. These clips are available from First Fence in a convenient 100-count pack. Please note that while this pack contains the clips, the matching screws are sold separately in 100-count packs.
The Purpose of Starter Clips
- Achieve a Seamless Look: By concealing the hardware, starter clips create a smooth, consistent surface free of visible screws or nails.
- Provide Stability: They anchor the first deck board securely, preventing shifting and ensuring perfect alignment for the rest of the project.
- Allow for Expansion: Designed like other hidden fasteners, these clips accommodate the natural expansion and contraction of composite lumber caused by temperature swings.

How They Work
- Attachment: Screw the starter clips directly into the underlying joists.
