We built this gate to last using residential-grade aluminum alloy. It features 5/8 inch by 5/8 inch pickets in 18 gauge and reinforced 1 inch by 1 inch rails in 16 gauge. The 3-rail configuration adds significant rigidity to the frame, ensuring the pickets stay aligned and the gate remains square. Unlike iron, aluminum will not rust, making this gate an excellent choice for humid environments or coastal areas. The powder-coated finish seals the metal against the elements, preserving the intricate details of the staggered spear design and ensuring the black finish remains rich and fade-resistant for years to come.
Integrated Fence Connection
This drive gate is designed to be a seamless extension of your fencing system. The gate leaves hang directly off the end posts of your fence run, allowing the fence line to continue uninterrupted from the gate hinge. This efficient design eliminates gaps and creates a unified perimeter that looks custom-built. By integrating the gate into the fence line, you achieve a higher level of security and a more polished aesthetic compared to disjointed, standalone gate installations.
Hardware and Post Selection
To accommodate different driveway surfaces, we offer two types of end posts. Dig-in end posts are designed for setting in concrete footings within soil or gravel, providing deep anchorage. Bolt-down end posts feature a welded flange plate for secure mounting to concrete driveways. We also offer two hardware tiers. The Essential Hardware Hinge kit includes butt hinges and a gravity latch for basic use. For a superior experience with a double gate, we recommend the Signature Hardware Kit. This package includes heavy-duty wrap-around hinges for enhanced support and a fork latch with a hanger and drop rod. The drop rod allows you to fix one leaf in place, creating a solid center post for the other leaf to latch against, essential for maintaining alignment.
